Local Business Week events for Leitrim businesses


Tánaist and Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar TD has kicked off the full program of Local Business Week events, which runs online from Monday March 1 through Friday March 5.

Over 200 virtual events are planned by local business offices across the country, including the local Leitrim Enterprises office, and these include training workshops, informational webinars and masterclasses with entrepreneurs and experts, designed to help Irish small businesses and those looking to start a new business in 2021.

Organized by Local Enterprise Office Leitrim and supported by Enterprise Ireland and Leitrim County Council, this year’s theme is ‘Making It Happen’. Common topics throughout the week include starting a new business, resilience and recovery, green economy, getting ‘thinner’, exploring new markets, doing business online and the new business relationship. with the United Kingdom.

For the first time, Local Business Week also includes ten “Spotlight” events and these are open to all businesses across the country.

He said, “Local Business Week will be fully online this year, with over 200 events taking place. We have all had to do things a little differently because of the pandemic and I have no doubt that participants will find this year’s week just as useful and interesting.

“Local Business Week is the perfect opportunity to look at the help available and find what works best for your business. “

Joe Lowe, head of the business bureau at Leitrim, said: “Small businesses in Leitrim are severely affected by the Covid-19 restrictions and many have not been able to fully trade since last year.

“That’s why initiatives like Local Business Week are more important than ever, because they showcase all the supports that are now available to small businesses and start-ups.

“In addition to the ten ‘Spotlight’ events, we offer a number of events during the five days of Local Business Week.

Local Business Week is an annual initiative of local business offices and supported by Enterprise Ireland, local authorities and the Irish government.
