IIM Shillong signs MoU with Manipur University to foster entrepreneurship and skills development – The Sangai Express

IMPHAL, June 27: The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Manipur.
The MoU was signed by Prof. DP Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong and Prof. N Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University.
This initiative aims to support the areas of business management, training and consultancy activities, business development and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship and skills development for students, centers business incubation, promotion of entrepreneurship, development and training of faculty and joint research in the field of management sciences, social sciences and humanities in a mutually beneficial manner.
While honoring the occasion as Chief Guest, Professor DP Goyal said, “IIM Shillong has a major role to play in the development of the North East region. The business environment is very favorable. The development of the northeast is a goal of our three centers, CeDNER, Kalam and incubation. We support young people in the Northeast in the creation and marketing of businesses. India has produced many successful entrepreneurs. It is crucial to build the most vital component, namely people, for the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Young people must be helped to increase their productivity. People need to be more aware. »
He added, “The MoU will affect the landscape of Manipur. Our goal is to help the people of Manipur. We will help them develop and put these ideas into action by identifying ideas. With guidance and getting started, we will help the incubator.
During the celebration, the Manipur University Center for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development organized a one-day national seminar on “Startups and the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in India” in collaboration with the Institute Indian management Shillong Center for the development of the North East region.
The seminar was also attended by Atul Kulkarni, Member of BOG IIM Shillong, Prof. W Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, University of Manipur, Prof. Srinivasan R. Iyengar, Director of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, University of Mumbai and the Professor Ch Ibohal Meitei, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development at Manipur University.
