Enigma Business Park expansion plans revealed

Candidate Hillrow Homes, from Herefordshire, wants to expand the Enigma business park at Checkers Close, building five new light industrial units.

If approved, the plans could create dozens of new jobs, as a new planning application has been submitted to Malvern Hills District Council.

Planners are requesting permission to construct a new building on the site, which will contain the five new units.

It is not yet clear how many jobs would be created as part of the move, but plans say the new units would allow businesses to move in, bringing in and creating jobs in the process.

With the new building, 15 parking spaces would be included as well as new vehicle access via Checkers Close.

The land it would sit on is currently undeveloped, surrounded by similar industrial buildings forming the rest of the business park.

In addition to these there would be parking for bicycles and motorbikes provided.

The plan has already received support from MHDC’s economic development team.

Their response reads: “This proposal to provide additional office space is supported by the Economic Development team as it will provide new premises for business growth and employment at an allocated employment site. ”

According to the planning document attached to the application file, the building would have exterior brick walls and anthracite gray roller shutter doors as well as a slate gray tiled roof.

Each unit would contain an office, laundry room and cloakroom.

The application, which can be viewed at plan.malvernhills.gov.uk/Planning/Display/M/22/00524/FUL – was filed on May 25 and has an end date of June 22.

It is not yet known when or if the plan will be discussed by the MHDC planning committee, with the next meeting scheduled for June 15 canceled according to the council’s website.
