Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (YIIEC) Guide 2022

Introduction of 2022 YIIEC

YIIEC is designed to provide a competition platform with practical incubation benefits for international innovators and entrepreneurs. With Yunnan’s special geographical advantages and relevant supporting policies, we seek to accelerate the development of Yunnan as a science and technology innovation center for South and Southeast Asia. In order to bring new advantages to Yunnan’s industrial development, it is essential to firmly establish the strategic position of leading talent development, attract more talents at home and abroad to innovate and start businesses in Yunnan, as well as expanding our openness to the outside world. .

The competition is open to projects from strategically emerging industries, such as biomedicine, new energy resources, new materials, advanced equipment manufacturing, green and environmental protection, highland agriculture, as well as cultural tourism and health care.

Participation criteria

(i) South/South East Asia Competition
a) Group of companies
b) Team group

Students of nationalities of South/Southeast Asian countries who are studying in Yunnan universities or Students who are currently studying in South/Southeast Asian countries (core team members should be at least three people)

ii) Returning Chinese Students Competition
a) Starting group
b) Incubation group

Supporting rewards and policies

(i) South and Southeast Asia Competition

a) Group of companies
South and Southeast Asian companies that have obtained the first, second and third prizes will receive science and technology project funds of 400,000, 300,000 and 200,000 RMB respectively if they register their company and start a business. business in Yunnan within 2 years of the competition.

b) Team group
The foreign teams who obtained the first, second and third prizes will receive science and technology project funds of 100,000, 50,000 and 30,000 RMB respectively if they register their company and start a business in Yunnan within 2 years of the competition.

c) Other policies
Companies based in South and Southeast Asia (including Chinese companies) who have obtained the first, second and third prizes will receive an additional support bonus of 100,000 RMB if they register their company and start a business in Yunnan in the year following the competition.

Companies and Teams ranked among the top 5 in their respective categories will be directly selected for the “Intellectuals in Yunnan (Zhihui Yunnan)” plan. The foreign team member who establishes business and research partnerships in Yunnan will receive 120,000 RMB in funds every year.
