Business Mentor: Getting Into Entrepreneurship

Some entrepreneurs started their journey when they were still young. In my case, I was selling comics, candy and the like to get money for school so I didn’t have to ask my parents.

Our situation at the time was not difficult. However, I found it interesting to earn my own money. Plus, it was a great feeling to make money on my own despite being young. From this experience I have learned that if you are willing to do something then great things will follow.

How I would like this to be taught to children very early on so that they can be more aware of the real world as they grow older. We learn math and other basics, but nothing about how to start and maintain a business, or how to invest.

I have met thousands of people from different backgrounds. And that’s probably one of the best things I love about what I do. I am able to touch people’s lives and instill in them the right way to start and maintain a business.

Not all of them were successful, for several reasons.

  • Their hearts were never there and they joined a seminar or workshop thanks to the coaxing of a friend.
  • They don’t have the confidence to start their own business.
  • They don’t have the financial capacity to support a business.
  • They don’t have the proper mindset to be an entrepreneur.

Starting any type of business can be difficult. This is why it is essential for an entrepreneur to have the right mindset. How do you do?

Above all, you have to believe in your ability to be successful. You have to believe in the company and its products and services. I mean, how would you sell something if you don’t believe it. If you are not a coffee lover and have chosen to set up a cafe, how can you convince others to try the different concoctions in your cafe?

You have to choose a business that is close to your heart, a business that you always want to talk about and create strong ideas. To sustain your passion, educate yourself in any way possible. Just keep having a positive outlook. Create a plan that will take you in the right direction.

As I have also mentioned in previous articles, having a business plan is a must before starting a business. It would be a waste of time and resources if you went back to step one because you missed important details.

Take for example this situation: Mr. A has a plan to start a labor-intensive business. He already has a name for the company. He then enlists the help of a web developer to build the company’s website and pays for the domain name and hosting. But then he discovers that the name he chose has already been used, or is too similar to another company offering the same services. Problems arise afterwards and there is therefore a delay in the creation of the website.

In addition to having the will to start a business, an aspiring entrepreneur must be equipped with everything needed before opening the business to the public.

It’s one thing to have confidence in yourself. It’s another to train your mind to become more organized, to seize opportunities, to manage risks and to have the determination to move forward no matter what.

So what’s the secret to successful entrepreneurs? It pays to have the proper guidance from a business consultant with enough knowledge, faith, and tremendous persistence. Don’t complicate matters when all you need is a broader perspective.
