200 virtual events announced for Local Business Week


More than 200 virtual events are planned by local business offices for Local Business Week, which runs online from Monday March 1 through Friday March 5.

The events include training workshops, informational webinars and masterclasses with entrepreneurs and experts and are designed to help small businesses across the country and those looking to start a new business in 2021.

Tánaiste and Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Leo Varadkar said we have all had to do things a little differently because of the pandemic.

But he said he has no doubt that those who attend Local Business Week will find this year’s week just as useful and interesting.

“Many companies have really relied on their local business office for advice, training and financial assistance during these difficult few months,” said Mr. Varadkar.

“Local business offices are the point of contact for many government grants and training programs, such as the new Green for Micro initiative, the online voucher program and the Lean program,” he said. he declares.

“Local Business Week is the perfect opportunity to look at the help available and find what works best for your business,” he added.

Oisín Geoghegan, president of the Local Business Office Network, said that in addition to the ten “Spotlight” events, the 31 local business offices offer full programs during the five days of Local Business Week.

“Our advice to all businesses and those with a business idea is to take a look at what’s going on by visiting LocalEnterprise.ie/Week and register early,” he added.

The ten Spotlight events that take place during Local Business Week are:

“Benefits of green for your business – Launching green for micro-businesses” Monday March 1 (open to all companies in the country and organized by the Local Enterprise Office Dublin City).

“Looking back and taking steps forward: building leadership and resilience” Monday March 1 (open to all businesses across the country and hosted by Local Enterprise Office Donegal).

“Build the new” showcasing start-ups and innovators on Tuesday March 2 (open to all businesses nationwide and hosted by Local Enterprise Office Galway).

“Lean Growth: A Small Step or a Giant Step, Getting Started with Lean” Tuesday March 2 (open to all businesses across the country and hosted by Local Enterprise Office Kildare).

“AgriTech revolution in agriculture and food” Wednesday March 3 (open to all businesses across the country and hosted by Local Enterprise Office South Cork).

“Creative Connections: Activating Your Online Opportunities B-2-B” Wednesday March 3 (open to all businesses across the country and hosted by Local Enterprise Office Carlow)

“Commit to Growth with David Meade” Thursday March 4 at 10 a.m. (open to all companies in the country and organized by Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown).
