Plans for a £ 2million development of new business units on an industrial estate in Northumberland have been unanimously approved by planners.

The SIJP Partnership developers are expected to move forward later this year with the construction of 18 steel-framed light industrial, manufacturing, storage and distribution units with on-site parking on land near Ennerdale Road in Blyth Riverside Business Park.

New access roads, landscaping and on-site waste collection facilities will be included as part of a commercial development package to create an additional 18,223 square feet of floor space in the park, which currently houses a number of other units used for similar industrial and general purposes. Commercial activities.

Work on the units will be completed in 2022 and will create up to 20 construction jobs during the initial construction phase.
